I think I'll start with Jamie. Our new drummer flew in like a bat on speed and kicked some serious ass at our most recent show in London last week. This was a show where (despite our set being cut short) we felt we performed pretty solidly, each of us absolutely delighted to see so many of our fans wearing our merchandise and beaming up at us with a gaze somewhat reminiscent of Nick Carraway's adoration for Gatsby. It feels amazing.
We have a ton of exciting stuff coming up in the next few months and throughout the year, so many shows and events are cropping up I don't actually have any idea whether this blog post will be of the "you heard it here first" variety, or simply old news to the occasional super-hardcore-mega-fan-that-often-knows-things-before-me. But what I would love to mention (or at least elaborate on) is the goings on of a month which usually flies past like a chav as soon as he gets out of the centre of town in his sexy, sexy Vauxhall Corsa: April.
Kicking off the month like the best damn Sunday league football match you've ever seen, on the 5th of April is a show called T-Live Bandslam, the first round of qualification for us to get in with a chance of playing at the T-Live festival in the Summer. This is a festival which would be a wonderful privilege to perform, especially having missed out on the chance last year due to various members of the band off gallivanting around the world whilst I sat at home watching episode after episode of Lost (I have no regrets, that series changed my life). So it's really great that we're in with a chance of securing a slot at the festival this year.
So it'd be great to see as many fans as possible at The Place in Oakengates, Telford on that date, and hopefully we'll get selected. After that there's a little treat that our fans/music lovers across the UK will be able to enjoy on the 12th of April; information about that will no doubt be fired at you very soon, if not by the time this blog post is actually posted, rendering this entire paragraph more or less irrelevant.
Either way, that'll mark the start of what is already being described as a "wicked-awesome-mega-fun week", with us being the main support to Fortunes at O2 Academy Liverpool (this'll be our first ever show within punching distance of Steven Gerrard, so we'll make sure to play something he likes) on Wednesday 16th April; tickets for that are well and truly available from the website, only a couple of clicks away, on the Store.
Then the wicked-awesome-mega-fun-week will be rounded off in stunning fashion on Easter weekend (the Saturday) as we get to HEADLINE another show at Birmingham O2 Academy supported by some pretty insane bands, the superb Page 44, Million Empire, Hilum and Joe Miles. It'll be a great show, we can break out some new songs and it'll be amazing to see all you Brummy folk there.
Tickets for that are also very much available from the Store.
Peace out, Tom.
