First of all, as has been mentioned by us all a few times, we’re heading down to Essex to Arthur Walwin’s studio to record a brand spanking new single for all you lovely people. It’s going to be our first single since ‘Oh Me, Oh My’ was released back in October 2013 and, for me personally, it’s going to be my first time in a recording studio with Fight The Dice (I can’t bloody wait). If you've seen us live over the past few months you will have definitely heard this tune. Either way, I hope you’re as excited for the whole kaboodle as much as I am.
After that, on the weekend of 28th and 29th June, we’re heading down the road to play at Shrewsbury Food Festival. Yep, there’s going to be a town full of fancy food, fancy alcohol and kick-ass bands including yours truly. We’ll be playing in The Quarry both days (some time around the middle of the day, I really don’t know, keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages) and you can come and see us there for free. I repeat, FREE. It would be ace to see a few familiar faces over there.
As well as SFF, we’re doing a live studio session at BBC Radio Shropshire Introducing in the evening of 28th June (to make up for the session back in Easter that was postponed). We’re planning on playing a considerable amount of material we haven’t played live on air before including the new single we’ll have just recorded, so make sure you’re all tuned in! (We will post a link to it closer to the time.) Exact times are to be confirmed.
Now for some non-musical related band news. We bought a van. That’s right. We have a van. It’s going to make transporting all our equipment etc. around the country for various summer shenanigans infinitely easier, so it’s pretty damn cool. I’m not really sure what else to say about it, other than how freakin’ awesome it is to have our very own band wagon. Now all we need to decide is whether to decorate like the A-Team van or the Ghostbusters van... Anyway, I’m fairly sure that’s all there is to say for now. Obviously we have all our other festival slots and gigs later on in the summer, but I’ll save that for another blog. We’ll be incessantly posting about them all on our personal and band Twitter and Facebook pages anyway so keep an eye out! Peace out. Jamie. | |
